TSHIDI MOHULATSI

Matshidiso 'Tshidi' Mohulatsi is deeply passionate about empowering South Africa's entrepreneurs and believes they hold the key to a more sustainable future for this country. She has accumulated vast experience in the enterprise development sector from her positions as Financial Manager and later on Executive Director of Ndiza Finance; which focuses on small and micro-enterprise finance, and business development. Her responsibilities include developing funding models, operational and funding processes, procedures and policies.

She is also responsible for capital raising and on-lending fund raising both nationally and internationally, including engagements with the Land Bank, IDC, SEFA (formerly SAMAF), Old Mutual Masisizane Fund and the Master Card Foundation.

Her work includes

• developing new investment partnerships, 
• sourcing new market opportunities, 
• reviewing and monitoring the financial performance of the funded businesses (Post Investment Monitoring), and
• influencing their strategic direction. The primary objective being to contribute towards poverty alleviation and building sustainable businesses and livelihoods.

Before joining Ndiza Finance, Tshidi founded and managed Pula-Medupe Financial services, where she consulted on amongst others, Financial Management, Taxation, Payroll Management, Business Development, Operational policies and procedures.

She holds a B Comm. Accounting Degree and a Post Graduate Diploma, from the University of South Africa and a Certificate in Micro-Finance from the University of Pretoria. She is currently studying towards the ACCA qualification.

LERATO RAMATSUI

Lerato Ramatsui started his professional career as a trainee accountant at BDO Spencer Steward (Pretoria), now BDO Inc., while studying towards a B. Com Accounting Sciences at the University of Pretoria. He completed a Certificate in Management Development at Milpark Business School.

In 2010, He joined RamsKing Consulting, where he managed various projects involving design and production of marketing material, websites, corporate branding amongst others. He went on to assume the role of Finance Officer at Ndiza Finance in 2011 and later became the Accountant, working closely with the Finance manager in the accounting and HR department.

His roles as trainee accountant and subsequently accountant, exposed him to most aspects of financial accounting, from books of first entry to financial statement preparation. He participated in various External Audits as trainee accountant, which enabled him to oversee and run the external audits in his role as Accountant at Ndiza Finance.

He works very closely with the Finance Manager on formulation of accounting policies, internal controls measures, financial management, budgets, funding application proposals, the review and prioritization of operational and other costs and the day to day cash flow management

Lerato's experience with SMEs includes: the ability to analyses the SME market trends, to understand market influencers and indicators (their co-relation) and to initiate and exploit business opportunities within the SME developmental space. This has seen Lerato develop a Business Analysis Tool for SMEs.

Lerato's other roles included:

• Project manager at RamsKing Consulting, where he oversaw various projects 
• On a volunteer basis, a Multimedia Manager at his local church, Lighthouse Chapel International, a role which taught him the value of human relationships and selfless service to others. 
• IT support at Ndiza Finance, and Lighthouse Chapel International

CAROLINE MAMPHWE

Caroline is a self-motivated and driven individual, with vast experience in the marketing and business development field. She started her career as a sales consultant and later a branch manager of a retail store. She later joined Mafori Finance as a sales executive and managed branches around the country. Her good communication skills have seen her being able to grow her portfolio and retain clients. Caroline’s passion and dedication has seen her being able to identify new business opportunities, following them up and closing deals.


Caroline joined Ndiza Finance in 2011 and took up the role a Business Development Manager, working closely with the Chief Executive Officer. She is passionate about the development of small business. Clients in her portfolio have won the CITI Bank Micro Entrepreneur of the year for 3 consecutive years. She developed and implemented marketing literature, working with her sales team which she trained.


She has studied Tele Consultant Management, Merchandising Stock taking and a Nursing course. Caroline obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Christian Ministry from CFC International Bible College in 2014.

PAKIE MPHAHLELE

Mr. Pakie Mphahlele is the founder and Managing Director of Mafori Group, which holds controlling stakes in: Mafori Finance, Mafori Credit Services (manages funds & bursaries), Mafori Consultants (consulting services to emerging financial services companies). He also co Co-founded a number of entities and was a director thereof: Ndiza Finance – an SME lender funded by Old Mutual & SEFA; WIZZIT Bank – internationally recognized as pioneer of cellphone banking; several micro-lending companies (including subsidiaries of JSE listed Thuthukani Group Limited later bought by Saambou Bank).

His experience includes:

• Due diligence for capital raising: Altfin & King Finance (later amalgamated to form African Bank) 
• Consultant to Standard Bank Retail Division – when entering micro-lending space 
• Business Analyst within wholesale funding space (part of team that established operating policies & procedures for the National Housing Finance Corporation & the Rural Housing Loan Fund) 
• Deputy Director: National Treasury (responsible for investments within SADC region) 
• Analyst: SCMB (Standard Corporate & Merchant Banking) 
• Junior Economic Researcher (University of the Western Cape & Macro Economic Research Group) 
• University Lecturer (Economics) and a High School teacher

Pakie sits on several boards including being a Chairman of GPF (Gauteng Partnership Fund) created through R400m seed capital to upgrade inner city buildings within Gauteng province and Nixor Integrated Service (offers back-office to financial services companies).

He holds a Masters in Financial Economics (University of London), Honours in Economics (University of the Western Cape), Honours in Psychology (University of Limpopo), Post-Graduate Diploma in Higher Education (University of South Africa).

Pakie was awarded overseas scholarships and placements by the British Council (Master's Degree at London University), USSALEP (United States – SA Leadership Exchange Program) by the Wharton Business School (Philadelphia), SAAEP (Southern African Advanced Education Program) by the Bank of England, and the MERG (Macro-economic Research Group) by The Hague (Netherlands)

TSELENG THAMAGA

Tseleng Thamaga is a versatile individual with diverse skills and experience in the financial, accounting and audit environment. She has over 13 years working experience in the low cost housing and the Micro-finance industry. She was appointed at Mafori Group as Senior Manager in the Finance and Investments Portfolio in January 2005, after serving as a Finance Manager of Blue Dot Finance. Tseleng was responsible for successfully managing different Investors portfolios with a high level of professionalism and integrity. Her roles included managing staff, preparing regular reports, financial statements and regulatory reports to different stakeholders including regulatory bodies such as:

• Micro Finance Regulatory Council of South Africa(MFSA) 
• National Regulatory Council of South Africa(NCR)
• Investors like Musa Capital Advisors 
• Rural Housing Loan Fund (RHLF) 
• National Housing Finance Corporation (NHFC) 
• Industrial Development Corporation(IDC)

Tseleng has worked within a team in capital raising with various financing and developmental institutions like; IDC, NHFC, SEFA and RHLF.

She is a founder of Dem Tse Trading and Business Solutions CC, which focuses on SME's development:

• To develop proper structure of the business and advisory 
• Compliance with Regulatory bodies
• Bookkeeping and Financial Reporting 
• Payroll Run 
• Financial education and wellness 
• Credit rescue and clearing

She holds a B. Comm. degree (Audit and Finance) and National Diploma in Technical Finance and Accounting (ICB). In 2007 Tseleng attended Harvard Business School's International Boulders Course for Micro-Financiers on "Finance and Risk Management", in Florence, Italy.
